We’re delighted to announce the opening of our latest Gourmet Coffee Bar & Kitchen at Portsmouth & Southsea railway station.

For us, opening a new location is always exciting, but becoming part of a station with such a fascinating history makes this one particularly special.

Since we were established in 2007, we’ve had one simple goal – to serve great coffee to people on the move. Whether you’re commuting to work, heading off on a day trip or simply passing through, we believe you deserve a properly made specialty coffee along the way.

And now, we’re proud to be serving the people of Portsmouth and Southsea.

A Station with a Story

Portsmouth & Southsea railway station has been at the heart of the city’s transport network since the 19th century.

Designed by architect Charles Henry Driver, the station is a striking example of Victorian railway architecture, with its distinctive symmetry, ornate detailing and impressive presence.

Architectural historian Simon Jenkins has described the station as being in a “French château style”, and Portsmouth & Southsea is featured in his acclaimed book Britain’s 100 Best Railway Stations.

We love the fact that our new home isn’t simply somewhere people catch a train, it’s a building with its own character and a story that stretches back generations.

A Railway built around Portsmouth’s history

The railway has played an important role in Portsmouth’s development, supporting the city’s naval, commercial and tourism industries over many decades.

The wider railway network around Portsmouth was particularly important to the city’s naval infrastructure, with connections providing a vital means of moving people, supplies and freight.

Portsmouth Harbour, in particular, was closely connected with the Royal Navy and HMNB Portsmouth. Dedicated railway infrastructure once allowed goods and materials to be transported directly towards the dockyard, reflecting the strategic importance of the railway to the city.

As transport changed over the years, so did the role of the railway. Freight operations eventually disappeared, but the railway itself remained an essential part of Portsmouth’s identity.

Today, thousands of people continue to pass through the city’s stations every day and we’re thrilled that we can now be part of that journey.

Our passion is simple: great coffee

Since 2007, we’ve focused on what we know and love: carefully sourcing, roasting and brewing specialty coffee to the highest standards.

We don’t try to be everything to everyone, we just focus on making great coffee and making sure every cup we serve is something we can be proud of.

Our locations are found in railway stations throughout the UK, so we understand that coffee is often an important part of the journey.
