We’re really excited to share that Gourmet Coffee Bar & Kitchen will be opening at the brand new Cambridge South Station, a major new transport hub designed to transform connections across the city and support the continued growth of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and the wider Cambridge community.
This is a project we’re incredibly proud to be part of and one that feels closely aligned with who we are as a brand. We’ll be bringing our freshly prepared food and drinks to a station that has been designed around connection, sustainability and the future needs of the city.
We’ll be opening a coffee kiosk on Platform 1, serving freshly made coffee, drinks and grab-and-go food for people on the move. We’ll also be opening a café within the station on another platform (details to be confirmed), providing passengers with a more relaxed space to sit and enjoy something freshly prepared before continuing their journey.
A new gateway for south Cambridge
Cambridge South Station is a major investment in the future of the city.
With capacity to welcome up to 1.8 million passengers each year, the station will improve connections for commuters, residents, visitors, patients and staff travelling to one of the UK’s most important centres for science, research and healthcare.
The station will provide direct rail connections to destinations including London, Birmingham and Stansted Airport, making travel in and around Cambridge more accessible than ever.
Located just a short walk from the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, the station will play an important role in supporting the thousands of people who travel to the area every day, while also helping connect growing communities across the Cambridge Southern Fringe.
For us, being part of a space that brings people together in this way feels incredibly special.
Built with sustainability at its core
One of the things that really stood out to us about Cambridge South Station is its commitment to more sustainable travel.
The station is the first railway station in the UK being built without a car park, encouraging people to choose greener ways of travelling, including rail, cycling and walking. It is also connected to Cambridge’s cycle network and sits alongside the guided busway system, making sustainable transport options easier and more convenient.
The station also includes green features such as solar panels and a rainwater harvesting roof, helping generate renewable energy on site and reduce its environmental impact.
Sustainability has always been important to us at Gourmet, so being part of a development that shares those values is something we’re genuinely proud of.
